epicPLY multiplex board with HPL coating – lightweight, stable, robust
The epicPLY multiplex board with HPL coating is the perfect combination of extremely low weight, high stability, and a matte surface. It is moisture-resistant, durable, and makes every project an eye-catcher – whether in camper conversions, boat building, or furniture making.
Ultralight & super-stable – ideal for lightweight construction
Our epicPLY multiplex board consists of 11 middle layers (at 15 mm thickness) and is up to 50% lighter than conventional multiplex boards – all while maintaining impressive stability. Whether you are converting your camper, planning custom furniture, or realizing lightweight construction in a boat: this board saves weight without sacrificing quality.

Why is the board so light?
The secret lies in the material: Albasia wood, also known as Albizia or Paraserianthes falcataria, is an extremely light wood with low density. The cell structure of this fast-growing tropical tree ensures that our multiplex boards weigh significantly less than conventional boards – while maintaining the same stability.
Albasia grows in Indonesia, where degraded and deforested areas are being reforested. Thanks to the tropical climate with plenty of sun and rain, the tree grows particularly fast – perfect for sustainable lightweight construction.
Is this sustainable? Absolutely.
We focus on genuine climate protection. Thanks to our partnership with Fairventures, we plant six new trees for every tree felled. Our Albasia plantations sequester more CO₂ than is produced during production and transport – which makes our board climate-neutral.

epicPLY multiplex boards with HPL coating as a countertop?
The epicPLY multiplex board with HPL coating is approved for vertical use. This means it is not recommended for use as a worktop or tabletop. For this purpose, we can confidently recommend the epicPLY multiplex board with AFX coating, as it is approved for horizontal use due to its properties.
What is the difference between satin matte and pearl matte for HPL surfaces?
-
Satin matte: This surface is satin-finished and completely smooth. It has a particularly elegant and calm appearance – ideal for modern, minimalist designs.
-
Pearl matte: In contrast, pearl matte has a finely textured surface. It gives the material a subtle tactile quality and diffuses light softly.

*Important note regarding HPL boards coated on one side:
For HPL boards with a single-sided coating, a visible warping or tension of the board may occur due to the production process. This is not a material defect, but occurs due to the lack of a counter-balance on the reverse side (no so-called backing). The boards are intended for further processing or professional installation, during which this tension is usually balanced out. Complaints due to this characteristic can therefore not be accepted.
**Important note regarding board format:
Our epicPLY boards have a standard size of 242 x 120 cm. However, to ensure that you can use the full, undamaged surface, we ship the boards in a slightly larger format of 243 x 121 cm. Transport may cause slight damage or indentations on the outer edges, for example from being secured with straps. These minor blemishes do not affect the quality or function of the board and therefore do not constitute a reason for complaint. If such minimal damage occurs, you can simply cut the board to the specified size and thus use the full, undamaged surface for your project. And if everything arrives perfectly, you have simply received a little extra board from us as a gift!
